Admissions Process for Discovery Charter School – Falcon Campus

Discovery Charter School Falcon Campus is a tuition-free, TK to 8 public charter school focused on academic excellence, whole-child development, and strong family partnerships. The school serves families committed to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment.

 

Admission to Discovery Falcon’s 5-Day Program and Home School Program is determined through a lottery system. All families who complete the enrollment process by the deadline will be eligible for the lottery.

 

Discovery Charter School is authorized by the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) and accepts students from across California. There are no tuition fees or entrance exams.

 

Enrollment Information for 2026-27

While the initial open enrollment period (December 1, 2025 – March 1, 2026) has closed and the lottery has been conducted, we are still accepting applications on an ongoing basis.

 

  • 1. Apply Online

    To be eligible for the 2026-2027 school lottery, please submit an application by March 1, 2026.

    • Complete an application for each child you wish to enroll.
    • A separate application is required for each school site.

      Note: Falcon campus has two programs, you will have the option to select your program preference:

      • Falcon 5-Day Program: 5 days onsite

      • Falcon Home School Program: Hybrid model (3 days independent study, 2 days onsite)

     

     

    2. Come Learn All About Discovery and the Falcon Campus

    Discovery is a parent participation school where parents are active partners with the school in supporting students in their educational journey. Parents volunteer weekly in the classrooms to support their student’s teacher.

     

    Families are highly encouraged to attend a school tour and an information meeting. We believe these experiences are integral to the decision-making process, as they help families learn about our program, both in philosophy and in practice, as well as our expectations and school community.

    Meet our Director and discover how Discovery’s project-based learning, social-emotional focus, field trips, and family partnerships enrich every child’s education.

    • Meetings are available in two formats: virtually via Zoom or in-person.

    • The information shared pertains to all Discovery schools.

     

     

    Open House Tour at Falcon Campus

    Take a tour of our campus led by staff, volunteers and student guides, see our teachers in action, and hear from current families.

    • Tours are in-person only.

An Information Night led by our veteran middle school teacher where you will hear from our teacher, alumni students and families, and a Middle School Work Showcase where you can come see for yourself and engage with current students and their hands-on projects.

    1. Discovery will verify applicant information.
    2. An email will be sent one week prior to the lottery with a Lottery Alias ID. This unique ID will be used in the lottery and waitlist.
    3. The lottery will be held on the following date and time:

    March 13, 2026 @ 1:00 PM

    • Offer letters are emailed within 24 hours.
    • Families have 3 days to accept or decline using instructions in the offer email.
    • A waitlist is posted on the school website. Seats are offered from the waitlist as they become available.

    Important: Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment. If applications exceed available spots, admission is determined by lottery.
