Elementary School

Our elementary program is grounded in the belief that every child is a capable, curious, and creative learner. We are committed to providing a student-centered education that honors individual differences and fosters a deep love for learning. Through meaningful relationships, engaging experiences, and a vibrant learning community, we empower students to take ownership of their education and grow into thoughtful, responsible, and lifelong learners.

  • Our core curriculum is aligned with each child’s developmental stage, enabling students to build confidence and make meaningful progress at their own pace.

We use a hands-on, project-based learning approach where students explore real-world concepts through creative, collaborative projects. These experiences develop academic skills alongside critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.

  • We believe that meaningful learning happens in a collaborative, inclusive environment. Students are active participants in shaping their learning journey. We encourage them to take ownership of their growth by making choices, setting goals, and reflecting on their progress.

Classroom communities are built together, with students and teachers creating agreements that guide behavior and foster respect, accountability, and care. This approach cultivates a sense of belonging and responsibility, helping students understand what it means to be both independent and interdependent within a learning community

  • We deeply value hands-on, experiential learning that extends beyond the classroom walls. Through regular Nature Days, students explore science, ecology, and environmental stewardship in natural settings. Additionally, up to 10 field trips each year enrich their academic studies. Our 4th and 5th graders also participate in overnight trips that foster independence, community, and immersive, real-world learning.

  • Our dynamic enrichment program supports the whole child, reflecting our belief in learning through the arts, culture, and community. Sample offerings include ceramics, visual arts, performing arts, Spanish language and culture, gardening and environmental studies, fiber arts like sewing, knitting, and weaving, as well as coding and woodworking. Enrichment classes vary each year based on the skills and passions of parent volunteers, keeping our offerings fresh, relevant, and deeply rooted in the community.

  • We are more than a school – we are a lifelong learning community where students, families, and educators learn and grow together. By prioritizing relationships, creativity, and student voice, we prepare children not just for the next grade but for life.
